Who can apply
To be eligible for a Challenge Facility grant an organization must:
- have documentation to confirm that it is a registered organization, either nationally or provincially;
- have been operating for at least one full year;
- have a basic management structure and processes in place;
- be solvent, with current funding sources for the organization clearly stated;
- represent and serve an identifiable community, such as people living with TB, TB/HIV, MDR-TB, women, children, poor/neglected communities, or people living in remote rural areas;
- have a track record of carrying out activities with tangible outputs and outcomes in the area of advocacy or social mobilization;
- have a clearly defined vision, mission and set of objectives;
- have links with other development initiatives
- provide community support at the grass roots level
- if it was a recipient in the previous round they should submit a short note on what they achieved using the funds they received in the first round and, if the project has been completed, provide a project completion report and a financial report
In order to be considered for the Challenge Facility for Civil Society , applications must:
- be received by the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat along with all supporting documents, by 22 August at 23:59 GMT.
- not exceed US$20,000 per grant.
- have clearly defined objectives, activities and outcomes (ideally with measures) which are achievable through the sspecific project for which funding is being requested
Successful Proposals Should:
- benefit the community
- demonstrate clear links with other development initiatives, particularly in the area of public health.
- Indicate how the activities to be undertaken using the grant money will support the Stop TB Strategy of WHO.
- have an appropriate balance between salary and activities. (Suggested range 70% - 75% or more for activities and 25% - 30% or less for salaries)
- clearly state how the activities proposed will support the objectives
- clearly state how it will shape policy-making at local and national levels by giving a voice to people living with TB and those involved in prevention, treatment and care
- focus on capacity building and community engagement
- suggest possible links to country's TB Control Programme
- have S.M.A.R.T objectives : SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ACHIEVABLE, REALISTIC and TIMED
