Background Info
The year 2005 has been set as the milestone to reach the global TB targets. The Stop TB Partnership will need to stand strong with one voice on progress and challenges. Guidance and decisions from the Stop TB Coordinating Board will be crucial during this meeting, and will mark the way forward for the Partnership.
At the last meeting of the Coordinating Board in New Delhi (22-23 March 2004) during the 2nd Stop TB Partners' Forum, the Vice-Minister of Health from China offered to host the next Coordinating Board meeting in Beijing. In addition to the Board meeting, a selected group of Board members are expected to have an audience with the Vice-Premier of China. Before the Board meeting, a visit to one of China's TB priority provinces will be organized.

Visa Requirements
All delegates are requested to contact the Chinese Embassy in their respective countries to arrange the visa requirements.
Participants without visa will not be allowed to enter in the country and the immigration authorities will apply the deportation law.
Vaccinations
Please note that yellow fever vaccine certificate is required for entering in China.
Climate
The temperature in October in Beijing is at average 18˚C during the day, while at night temperature may go to 6˚C.
It is recommended to wear business attire inside the hotel, in the meeting rooms and at night may be necessary to wear some light coat or blazer. Cultural dress is welcomed.
Airport Transfer
Airport pick-up will be arranged by the Ministry of Health of China upon your arrival in Beijing.
Airport Taxes
Airport taxes may be included in the air ticket price, but upon leaving Beijing you should count on paying RMB 90 airport taxes.
Currency and Rate of Exchange
The monetary unit is the “RMB Yuan". The exchange rate is 1US$ to RMB 8.28 Yuan (variable, please check www.xe.com or your bank for the actual rate). Exchange agencies are open seven days a week at the airport, including Bank of China, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., China Construction Bank, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Agricultural Bank of China, from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.. There is also exchange service at the hotel with an exchange rate of US$1 to RMB 8.35 Yuan.
