A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for travelers coming from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission, unless they are in possession of a waiver stating that immunization is contraindicated on medical grounds.
The vaccinations recommended for Brazil are Typhoid and Hepatitis A and B. Malaria protection may also be advised, if you travel to other parts of Brazil.
SAFETY
Safety should be taken seriously while visiting Rio. With more than six million inhabitants in the city and well over 10 million in the greater metro area, social disparities in Rio can at times be wide. Board members are urged to take sensible and common sense precautions, particularly against petty crime.
