National partnerships can help catalysing contributions from civil society organizations and the private sector in the provision of TB services; raising awareness of TB among the general public; lobbying decision makers and donors to mobilize resources.

Organized by Eastern Mediterranean Partnership to Stop TB with Lilly MDR TB Partnership and its partners, the session will share and discuss progress, challenges and opportunities in MDR TB care in the Eastern Mediterranean Region covering Middle East, North Africa and South West Asia.
28 October 2011 - Achieving Success Through National Partnerships - Advocacy Corner, Exhibition Hall, Grand Palais, Lille (12.30-13.30)
Advocacy Corner is the key place at the conference for TB advocates from around the world to present their initiatives and network with other stakeholders. Afghanistan-Pakistan are the two high burden countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region of WHO. Sharing several socioeconomic characteristics, the two countries also face the common health and development challenge of TB. The annual partners forum at UNION conference on Afghanistan and Pakistan brings together partners, supporters and key players in TB care and control in two countries to share update on key developments and challenges being faced.
