Comments:WHO/EMRO staff (Mr Khan) and consultants (Mr Tariq & Mr Saleem) assisted Pakistan for implementing the ACSM component of the GF R6 grant (started from 1 Dec 07). Mr Tariq and Mr Saleem are Pakistani and recruited locally (APW contracts). Mr Tariq organized a ACSM M/E workshop in February 2009, and Mr Wasiq visited Pakistan from 30 January to 7 February 09 to co-facilitate the workshop. They supported the national TB programme and partners to develop ACSM M/E guidelines. During this TA provision, it was agreed that Mr Saleem will be recruited from 25 to 31 July 2009 to amend the ACSM component of the national strategic plan for TB control and also to assist partners to empower patients. At the same time it was ralized that, based on the finding of the newly conducted KAP survey (supported by GF R6), phase II ACSM workplan needs modifications. WHO/EMRO will therefore provide additional TA to amend the phase II ACSM workplan along with the new findings (new EMRO/ACSM TBTEAM OGAG support).
