| Comments: | WHO/EMRO sent a consultant (Mr Hussain) to Egypt from 25 to 31 July 2009 to assist NTP in improving ACSM component and activities supported by GF R6 grant (started from 01 Sept 07). R6 grant has five objectives (MDR-TB, prisoners & refugees; Poor urban populations; ACSM; HSS, and; OR) and ACSM is a stand alone objective. WHO/EMRO, Mr Hussain and NTP had already held preliminary discussions on this TA, and agreed that Mr Hussain reviewed the ongoing ACSM activities, and revise the draft ACSM workplan for phase II (which will start soon) of R6 with the current TA. At the same time, it was realized in the preliminary discussion that national capacity for ACSM implementation particularly M/E system needs drastic improvement. Accordingly WHO/EMRO provided additional TA, after the coming TA of Mr Hussain, to train national ACSM experts on the revised ACSM phase II workplan and also on M/E in ACSM (new EMRO/ACSM TBTEAM OGAG support)
