| Comments: | WHO/EMRO staff (Dr Baghdadi) visited Egypt three times to assist review of end of phase 2 of GF grant round 2 (started from 01 July 2004, phase 2 from 01 July 2006). The emphasis was put on the M/E component, particularly on the development and expansion of the innovative electronic nominal registration system (ENRS). ENRS is a case-based registration system including TB register, lab register, suspect register & contact register. Dr Baghdadi made a series of visits in Egypt: Menya (18-21 May 08), Ismailia (18 June 08) and Menofia (13 August 08). This has significantly contributed to the review of the end of phase 2 of the grant by assessing and strengthening the M/E component of the grant. Her visit contributed to the phase 2 review and assessment, as the phase to came to an end on 30 June 2009 with almost 95% implementation. Unfortunately the grant could not move to RCC.
