| Comments: | A training workshop was conducted aiming at strenghtening Iraqi NTP capacity in M&E, and data analysis at national and subnational level. The particpants were 25 Iraqi NTP staff and their manager (those were covered from different funding source!); and NTP manager Palestine. The Capture recapture suvrye training was addressing the same audience. Iraq is going to conduct the survey with support from GF but the other 2 countries from other sources. Weak surveillance and inaccurate estimates of TB burden are among the main contraints of R6 implmenation. These were addressed by the mentioned training and by conducting the survey and reporting the results which will be used to revisit the estimated burden of TB in Iraq. The seoond part of the workshop conducted with the same facilitators (the Palestinian and Jordaninan NTP) on infection control from 30 Septebmer to 2 October. The 25 Iraqi NTP staff trained were covered from other budgetary sources. The training particularly involved infection control aspects in post-war and conflict stricken settings, that are at least partly resource deprived. A an outcome, the national capacity of ensuring qualty infection control has been improved as a result of this workshop, and helped address the bottleneck of previously sub-optimal implementation of Infection control measures. |
