Title:Initial visit for Expanding Access to New Diagnostics for patients at risk of MDR-TB (EXPAND-TB) in United Republic of Tanzania
Type:Mission
Terms of Reference:• Present the UNITAID/ WHO-GLI/GDF/FIND project- “Narrowing the Gap: Expanding and accelerating access to diagnostics for patients at risk of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB)” to NTP, NRL, MoH, WHO representatives and all relevant stakeholders working in the country
• Assess the requirements for upgrading and modernizing national TB reference laboratories (at least one reference laboratory) as needed to accommodate and/or support TB diagnostic tools procured through this project.
• Meet with officials from NTP, NRL, MoH, WHO representatives and all relevant partners working in TB related interventions in the country.
• Assess training needs with respect to training in good laboratory practice, biosafety, quality assurance and new diagnostic methods.
• Carry out a final debriefing, ideally through a meeting gathering all officials and partners, in order to present main finding, possible options, future steps and precise calendar.
