Long-term technical assistance to Turkmenistan
Background
Turkmenistan successfully applied for GF round 9 in TB and HSS. WHO was identified as one of three sub-recipients responsible for implementation of cross-cutting HSS and several key TB components of the grant for total value of USD 716,000. The planned budget made provisions for covering staff costs for project’s technical management for only the second year of implementation.
Objective
To provide technical assistance in management and implementing GF round 9 TB grant in Turkmenistan.
Scope of work
Technical assistance will entail hiring one national professional officer by WHO Country and Regional Offices for the period of 9 months. The incumbent will be based in Ashgabat and work closely with the National TB Programme, CCM, GF PIU and other relevant stakeholders.
Technical assistance will focus on specific service delivery areas:
- Management, coordination, monitoring and evaluation
- Improving TB diagnosis
- High quality DOTS
- Advocacy, communication and social mobilization (ACSM)
- TB/HIV
- Health system strengthening
- PAL
- MDR-TB
