Terms of Reference:An epidemiologist is sought to provide technical assistance to a core editorial group that is planning to develop a guidance document on “TB capture” studies (aka “TB inventory” studies), in which a direct measurement of the level of TB underreporting is undertaken using record-linkage methods and loglinear modelling. The profile of the consultant, the tasks to be undertaken and the budget available are explained below.

Tasks
1. Provide technical guidance and support to the core editorial group for the TB capture study guidelines, lead specific chapters and coordinate the work of relevant authors (9 days).
2. Participate in technical meetings held at WHO in which guidance material on TB capture studies is reviewed and finalized (1 day)

Expected outcomes
1. Draft chapters and accompanying materials to be included in the forthcoming TB capture guidelines.

In line with WHO norms, 25% of the mutually-agreed total payment will be paid on signature. The balance will be paid upon completion of all deliverables and submission of a financial report.
Profile sought
An experienced epidemiologist, with expertise in quantitative approaches to TB disease burden assessment including studies relying on record-linkage with probabilistic matching, with a proven track record, and experience of contributing to WHO publications including guidelines. Ideally, previous experience of providing technical assistance related to TB surveillance systems.
