Title:Short Term Technical Assistance to facilitate the NTP Mid-Year Review meeting focusing on Monitoring and Evaluation for TB Contr

Terms of Reference:a) Finalizing the agenda of the NTP Mid-Year Review meeting
b) Preparing the PowerPoint slides for the Review meeting
c) Completing the analysis of the Eastern Regional Demonstration Project Data. This project was undertaken to assess the quality of data in order to identify areas of potential errors that need to be addressed
d) Discuss how Routine Data Audit Tool will be operationalized during the FY 12 (APA2) for TB CARE I
e) Conduct initial discussion on how a quick operational research to assess the time from sputum collection to initiation of TB treatment (provider Delay) in the Eastern region will be conducted (This will be within the context of improving TB case detection)

Comments:Based on the findings during the mission the following recommendations were made

1. TB CARE I should finalize ERDP data quality assessment, write report, feedback to region, sort out issue and continue with in-depth analysis
2. The NTP and TB CARE I should finalize draft manuscripts (referral, sputum results, mortality study) for submission to scientific journal (To TB CARE I –Rhehab Chimzizi for the mortality paper and NTP - Dr. Frank Bonsu for the referral & sputum results papers)
3. Pilot the RDQA tool and roll out in FY12 (APA2) in Eastern region (To NTP M&E unit and TB CARE I).
4. Prepare first draft National TB manual that should included detailed SOPs completing various recording and reporting forms (TB CARE I)
5. TB prevalence survey: Investigate option to start implementation prevalence survey with one team while awaiting for funding from ORIO (To NTP – Dr. Frank Bonsu).
