| Comments: | The course was attended by 32 nurses from 17 districts in Colombia. It was very well evaluated particularly with regard to its practical focus on nursing practice and the implementation of good quality people-centred care. The main challenge voiced by the nurses present was the fragmentation of the TB programme following significant health care reforms. Many public healthcare facilities have been closed and a medical model of healthcare has emerged with fewer nurses employed. This has reduced access to health services for the poorest in the community. |
