| Terms of Reference: | • To perform a mapping of the initial assessment of TB Infection Control measures existing both at national and local levels in Thailand, and to identify those which still need to be plan in the future; • To support the preparation of a National TB-IC action plan, and its integration into a broader National TB plan; • To engage in a systematic documentation of both the process and outcome of TB-IC measures, in order to identify certain components that could eventually be presented in the future as “Best Practices”.

| Comments: | ? TB-IC activities have already started at several levels of HCFs in Thailand. ? General IC in relation to other air-borne diseases (SARS, H5N1) have already improved IC Hospital Infection Control measures; ? A National TB-IC strategy/National Action Plan has not yet been developed; ? No systematic assessment of the TB-IC needs has been organized/done at National and/or regional levels; ? No systematic assessment of the TB-IC needs has been organized at prisons; ? Lack of policy guidance on surveillance and assessment of TB incidence among HCWs; ? Lack of joint planning in implementation of IC activities; ? There is no coordinating body at national level for TB-IC nor linked with IC coordinating body of the MoPH; ? TB education to patients and promotion of community awareness is pertained by hospitals; ? Waiting area are open with inadequate ventilation flow in some hospitals; ? Surgical masks are used by the patients easily.
