| Terms of Reference: | Objectives:
- To assess implementation of the program activities required for the proper detection and management of the programmatic management of drug resistant TB;
- To review the progress of implementation of the recommendations from the previous Technical Assistance Mission on PMDT.
- To review and advise on the national plan for MDR-TB management
- To assess the effectiveness of all development partner inputs in assisting the NTP to strengthen TB/MDR-TB services in the PNG.
- To assess the impact of the investments made on the development of TB/MDR-TB services in PNG on overall health systems strengthening
Key issues to be evaluated and reviewed:
- Case finding strategies, interim treatment outcomes and case-holding of patients currently enrolled;
- Laboratory network
- Treatment strategies, administration and follow-up;
- Coordination between the project and the community, NTP, partner NGOs and the second-line drug-procurement agency;
- Partners inputs in assisting the NTP in PMDT
- Management system for second-line TB drugs in terms of quantification method, procurement, importation, storage, distribution and delivery to the patients, and scale up plan for enrolment in the next 1 year period;
- Information system and data management.
