• review GDF support with key officials;

prepare the drug request for the coming year; and
• address issues raised by GDF Technical Review Committee (TRC) or during
previous missions.

Comments:Recommendations to NTP

• Strengthen the program management at provincial level in terms of HR and capacity building
• Strengthen capacity in M & E as an integral part of NTP in order to increase ownership and accountability
• Improve stock and store management at all levels
• Implement SOPs for TB drug management at all levels
• Training of the staff at BMU level on the use of Paed. Drugs
• Ensure that all TB suspects are subjected to smear exam. before the commencement of treatment
• Consider the reviewing of Paediatric guidelines according to the WHO recommendations
• Strengthen the defaulter tracing mechanism



V. Recommendations to GDF

• Continue procurement of quality assured Anti TB drugs from GDF and consider a long term arrangement with GDF for DP and TA in drug management

• Assist the programme to conduct training with a view to roll out the use of paediatric FDCs
