| Title: | Inter-country workshop for MDR-TB community management, palliative care, stigma, ethical consideration and pharmacovigilance |

| Terms of Reference: | 12 countries in the region started MDR-TB management (Afghanistan, Djibouti, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Sudan, Syria, and Tunisia), and 3 countries (Somalia, Southern Sudan, and Yemen) are planning to start. All of them are facing problems in expansion of hospitalized MDR-TB management due to its complicated requirement and high cost. Globally the carefully implemented models of community based MDR-TB management proved to be successful and cost effective and global guidance is now available. This workshop will cover this approach and some other neglected areas and bottlenecks in MDR-TB management aiming at scaling up the capacity of health staff working in that field.
Objectives:
To train the participants on
1- Managing MDR-TB on ambulatory basis using community support.
2- Managing side effects of DR-TB treatment and related pharmacovigilance
3- Managing stigma, and ethical consideration of TB and MDR-TB management
4- Identifying cases in need for palliative care and the related requirements to implement proper palliative care
