Dr Daniela Cirillo Head of Emerging Pathogens Unit, San Raffaele Scientific Institute, Milan (SRL)
Dr Wilfred Nkhoma Focal point, AFRO
Dr Deus Kamara Tanzania TB prevalence survey coordinator, NTP Tanzania

Joint review was a good opportunity to keep consistency of TA from different institutes on different areas of TB prevalence survey and to facilitate the understandings of ground level partners including academic institutes that participate in the review. It also saved time of the NTP as at least three individual missions could be merged. A series of the review activities also facilitates country-country collaboration to improve quality of surveys in different countries.
The commitment of the government to provide USD 1.5 million to the survey must help to improve the situation. The mission facilitated the appropriate and timely disbursment to share between the GF and the Gov funding. Continuous and strong supports by TB Impact Measurement Task Force with WHO, CDC and Supra National Laboratory are essential. A summary report will be uploaded later.
