Title:Promoting Rational Use of TB Medicines: Policy Analysis and Lessons
Type:Mission
Terms of Reference:The overall aim of this project is understand and analyze if and how countries with a high TB-burden ensure rational and responsible use of TB medicines. The analysis will build on case studies on policies and practices of selected countries undertaken by WHO’s Stop TB Department and is expected to provide lessons for Ministries of Health and National TB Programmes that face challenges with uncontrolled, irrational, and harmful use of TB medicines, which may contribute to poor treatment results, drug-resistance development and amplification, adverse drug reactions, and high costs to patients.
