Title:Evaluation of the TB and HIV Medical Record Systems

Terms of Reference:1) To implement the study entitled, “Evaluation of the TB and HIV Medical Record Systems for Patients Co-Infected with TB and HIV in THAT’S IT clinics, South Africa.”

To meet with collaborators at the Medical Research Council, CDC GAP South Africa, and the Republic of South Africa National Department of Health (NDoH) to discuss ongoing and planned operational research studies on Tuberculosis (TB) in South Africa. These studies include: 2) Tuberculosis (TB) Tracer study – to evaluate the impact of the TB tracer pilot project that took place Jan 08-May 09, 3) TB Surveillance/Electronic TB Registry (ETR); 4) Validation of Laboratory Sputa Data in KwaZulu-Natal 5) Evaluating New Approaches for Detecting Local Heterogeneity in the Burden of Drug Resistant TB (DR TB); 6) Situation Analysis to Explore Transmission of TB and DR TB in the Border Areas of South Africa; and 7) Contact Investigation of TB and Multidrug-Resistant TB (MDR TB) Patients.
