| Terms of Reference: | Project HOPE will assist National TB Program to assure high quality Tuberculosis Control by enhancing the DOTS strategy at all levels of health care. The TA is particularity aimed in strengthening TB laboratory by improving diagnosis and introduction of regular EQA.

| Comments: | Strengthening smear microscopy network by introducing system for quality assurance Training and advisory mission was aimed to introduce standardized methods for quality assurance to be implemented in TB laboratory network and support the NTP in development of sustainable system for quality assurance. Training course included five training modules: Introduction to laboratory quality management system; Internal quality control in smear microscopy labs; External quality assessment; Implementation of blinded rechecking system and Laboratory indicators.
At the end of the training a draft protocol for implementation of blinded rechecking for smear microscopy was developed. The training took place at the NRL from October 16 -19, with participation of laboratory staff from all levels of TB laboratory service.
