| Title: | To conduct preliminary analysis of association between specific molecular genetic basis of drug resistance and TB baseline histo |
| Type: | Mission |
| Terms of Reference: | addition, treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis can be complicated by the acquisition of additional drug resistances and poor treatment outcome. A number of specific mutations have been identified that confer resistance to first and second line treatment drugs. It is not known whether different mutations with the same phenotypic (in vitro) drug resistance are clinically the same. Novel molecular genetic rapid tests for drug resistance test directly for the most common mutations known to cause drug resistance. |
