Title:To assess the “Progress and the Challenges of EXPANDxTB” Project, Vietnam
Type:Mission
Terms of Reference:1. Review implementation of project at NRL, Hanoi and Lung and Respiratory Hospital, DaNang.

2. Assess implementation of liquid culture, rapid speciation and Molecular methods at NRL, Hanoi and Liquid culture and rapid speciation at DaNang.

3. Analyze validation of liquid DST and Molecular LPA at NRL, Hanoi on the basis of previous experts’ comments.

4. Explore the prospects of extending the project to two additional sites: Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital (PNTH), HCMC and Hanoi Lung Hospital (HLH) Hanoi.

5. Discuss with NTP/NRL on their proposal for the introduction of IInd line MGIT DST at NRL, Hanoi and PNT, HCMC for the early diagnosis of MDR patients.

6. Assess the country requirements for the future procurement and shipment.

7. Look at the challenges and discuss with NTP/NRL for the future course of the project.

8. Debrief NTP and other stakeholders

9. Provide the written report and follow-up action
