| Title: | Consultant support to cost annual childhood TB prevention and care globally for upcoming “Roadmap to address childhood TB” |

1. To produce a detailed list of the interventions that should be costed in line with the Childhood TB roadmap (version 21 August 2012). In discussion with the Childhood TB subgroup, it will be decided whether interventions from global policy makers and NTP will be costed following the Global Plan methodology or whether interventions from outside the TB programme should also be included in the costing (i.e. related health care services -facility-based child health services, community child health services, CBOs/NGOs, Community and Private care providers).
2. To produce a global estimate for childhood TB costs that combines: (i) R&D costs and (ii) implementation costs. R&D costs for childhood TB will be estimated globally, following the Global Plan 2011-2015 methodology and estimates. The method to estimate implementation costs will be outlined based on the selected interventions (see Task 1) and available information. A literature review on the availability of relevant financial data (unit costs of interventions) will be carried out. If possible the consultant will also research available plans or budgets from key high burden countries to find out investments in Childhood TB care for one or two countries.
3. To produce a short report outlining methodology and results.
4. To contribute to other work of the economics and financing team, as requested.
