| Terms of Reference: | The members of the external review mission (2012), under overall guidance of the team leader, will:
•Assess progress in the implementation of TB control activities under the National TB Programme in Maldives since the previous review in 2009
•Review the recommendations of the WHO monitoring mission 2009 and the progress achieved by the National TB programme in
oimplementation and expansion of the TB control strategy including interventions for TBHIV and MDR-TB
ouniversal access to TB diagnosis and treatment including plan for laboratory scale-up
oimproving monitoring and supervision systems and provide recommendations to improve the quality of programme data
oaccess to and availability of quality assured first and second line anti-TB drugs
•Review technical policies and strategies, especially relating to the newer interventions initiated by the programme from 2007 onwards;
•Review the National Strategic Plan of 2006-2011 and analyze the challenges and opportunities for planning national TB control activities for 2011-2015
•Present the findings during the Mission to the national authorities in Maldives
•Formulate recommendations for the national TB control plan towards achieving TB targets under the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015
