| Title: | Monitoring and Evaluation visit to Ethiopia: EXPAND-TB project |

| Terms of Reference: | 1. Review progress with EXPAND-TB implementation in Ethiopia including:
a. Indicators for recording and reporting of MDR-TB cases diagnosed
b. Diagnostic algorithm
c. Referral system of samples to the NRL
2. Conduct laboratory infrastructure and workload assessments at the National TB Reference Laboratory (NRL), Addis Ababa
3. Discuss plans and timelines for implementation of the EXPAND-TB project with the NRL and National TB Programme managers
4. Meet with representatives from NTP, NRL, MoH, WHO country offices and other relevant partners working in tuberculosis laboratory related interventions in the country
5. Update the partners on the WHO endorsed lab policies for TB diagnostics
6. Discuss with the NTP managers and partners working on TB lab strengthening in countries the plans for scale-up new diagnostics including GeneXpert
7. Discuss the diagnostic and treatment capacities of the MDR-TB cases
8. Carry out a final debriefing, ideally through a meeting gathering all officials and partners, in order to present main findings, possible options, future steps and precise calendar
9. Discuss WHO-CO involvement with regards to the EXPAND-TB project
10. Discuss the progress with the regional laboratories
11. Discuss the electricity issues at St Pieter’s hospital
