Partners' Poll: New Stop TB logo |
|
|
It's perhaps difficult to believe that the Stop TB Partnership has already entered its sixth year of existence, a period marked by rapid growth and constant evolution in our makeup and mission. What began in 1998 as an idea is today a vibrant global movement of nearly 300 foundations, donors, academic institutions, NGOs and national TB programs. In the process, we have developed effective governance structures and a unique strategic vision in the Global Plan to Stop TB. Our main event each year, World TB Day, is now regularly celebrated in more than 50 countries, and 24 March 2004 will witness another key milestone with the 2nd Stop TB Partners Forum in New Delhi. To reflect these profound changes, the Partnership Secretariat is considering to update the logo for Stop TB. The existing 'stop sign' logo was developed by the former Global TB Program of WHO and adopted by the Partnership as a matter of convenience and continuity. Over the years the stop sign has adorned all Partnership documents and advocacy materials and thereby gained increasing visibility as a brand. Like the old Volkswagen Beetle, it won't win any beauty contests but is simple, sturdy and reliable. So one option is to keep the stop sign, unchanged. Meanwhile, we have developed two new alternatives. One represents continuity by retaining the stop sign in a sleeker and bolder format, set against a screened globe. The second is a completely new version without the stop sign but with a globe and the word 'Partnership' added to the logo. As a member of the Stop TB Partnership, we would like to hear your opinion on this very important issue. You may view all three of the options here. Please 'vote' for the logo of your choice.
