Relaunch of WebAlert and the Stop TB Communiqué

We've listened to your feedback and have standardized the content, production, and delivery schedule of our WebAlerts and Communiqués. We have also standardized our templates to provide a more consistent delivery channel.

WebAlert

The Stop TB WebAlert is a brief email notice on website updates and online initiatives from the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat and our partners.

Contents

The WebAlert contains:

  • notices of new print and multimedia resources available for viewing or download;
  • notices of new pages, site sections, or sub-sites;
  • notices of new website features and functionality;
  • other miscellaneous information regarding online initiatives by the Partnership Secretariat and our partners.

Schedule

The WebAlert will be sent on an ad hoc basis.

Communiqué

The Communiqué is an update of information from the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat, our Working Groups, and our partners.

Requests for information will be sent to the appropriate focal points as will guidelines on what constitutes appropriate information for inclusion.

Stop TB Partnership website redesign

In an effort to improve our web site's user-friendliness and ease-of-use, we will present current and new web content within an attractive and dynamic new design.

New Working Groups websites

Over the next few weeks, new information will be posted for all seven workings groups.

  • Advocacy, Communication, and Social Mobilisation
  • DOTS Expansion
  • DOTS Plus for MDR-TB
  • New Diagnostics
  • New Drugs
  • New Vaccines
  • TB/HIV

This will help highlight the activities and progress of the Working Groups and increase partner collaboration.

National partnerships page

A new area has been created on the Stop TB Partnership website dedicated to national Stop TB partnerships around the world.

TB and poverty page

The Stop TB Partnership is pleased to announce the launch of a new website for the Network for Action on TB and Poverty.

The objective of this website is to promote access to DOTS and TB control programmes for poor and vulnerable populations and to serve as a resource for partners who are fighting against tuberculosis.

The TB and poverty page can be found at /tbandpoverty.

Coordinating Board Website

To better present the vital function of, and information relevant to, the Stop TB Coordinating Board, a Corrdinating Board website was developed. The development of this subsite was funded by IUATLD. The Stop TB Partnership Secretariat thanks IUATLD and Dr Nils Billo for their continued support of our online initiatives and the Stop TB Partnership.

The Partners' Directory was completely redeveloped for the benefit of our partners and our internal reporting.

You can now apply to become a partner online, maintain your partner profile online, and find partners in any region or country.

Google-based site search

The world's most powerful search engine, Google, has been integrated into the Stop TB Partnership website and subsites. This new search greatly enhances your ability to find content on our site.

The new search expanded the number of non-web file types searched to 12 file formats. In addition to PDF documents, Google now searches Microsoft Office, PostScript, Corel WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, and others.

Logo usage guide and logo files

Our logo usage guide and logo files have been posted online for use by our partners. Before any materials are reproduced with Stop TB Partnership branding you must request permission from stoptbadvocacy@who.int.
