LAUNCH OF THE NEW STOP TB PARTNERSHIP WEB SITE

The Stop TB Partnership has launched its redesigned web site with a new look and feel and vastly improved navigational features.

WORLD TB DAY 2005

"The Stop TB Partnership, with its 350 partner governments and organizations, is making a difference by forging consensus on strategies, coordinated responses, mechanisms for quality drug supply, and action for new diagnostics, drugs and vaccines."

The Stop TB Partnership Secretariat commends all of our partners for organizing another successful World TB Day this year; ministries of health, national TB control programmes, regional, national and local health organizations; health centers, educational institutions, student associations, media institutions, and others.

Your WTBD events addressed a variety of issues including frontline TB care providers (the theme of this year's WTBD), patient and TB-affected communities, TB/HIV, multidrug-resistant TB, community based DOTS, partnership and capacity building, the Millennium Development Goals, TB and poverty, public-private partnerships and business initiatives.

Activities were as diverse as they were numerous: media events, publicity campaigns in television, radio and press, fundraisers, theater and musical events, photography, poster and art competitions, special events for TB ambassadors, film showings, educational programmes, trainings, seminars, marches and rallies.

Within the next couple of weeks we will post a questionnaire on the World TB Day 2005 web site to solicit your impressions and feedback on the theme selection, usefulness of the information products (including web site information), and future campaign organization. Visit our web site soon to send us your contributions.
