CELEBRATION OF WORLD TB DAY IN ROMANIA

22nd March a special presentation about the TB day and the importance of TB problem in Romania was held at one High School from Bucharest. The participants (students and teachers) received leaflets, hats and balloons all special created for World TB day. (together with Red Cross Romania)
22nd March seminar about TB and DOTS in one county - Arges. One doctor from the Central Unit visited one county and held a seminar about the importance of TB Day and DOTS. Participants received materials created for the TB day.
23rd March 2001 A press conference and a seminar about DOTS and Tuberculosis were held at the Central Unit - National Institute for Lung Diseases, Bucharest. Participants : representatives of Ministry of Health, journalists and doctors from the Institute, representatives of NGOs involved in health and social work.
Each participant received a special created envelope for TB day - containing notebooks, pens, leaflets and information about TB in general, TB in Romania, TB Programme.
A cocktail followed the events.(together with National Institute for Health Management and 2 companies for TB drugs- SICOMED Bucharest and ANTIBIOTICE Iasi)
24th March a TB conference was organized at the Public Health Directorate with speakers from the Central Unit. The participants were medical doctors, representatives of Ministry of Health and representatives of different NGOs.
24th March different contests - for drawings on the street, running and role bladders. In the biggest park for children from Bucharest was organized a special contest with drawings on the street with the theme: "TB cure for all". Participants : children from 5 72 years old.
The winners received T-shirts and hats.(together wit "Mesagerii Sanatatii" foundation)- in total an amount of 100 hats and 100 T shirts were distributed.
24th March leaflets (5,000), pins (2,000) and 3000 balloons were distributed in the most important areas from Bucharest and 3,000 posters were placed.
