California Tuberculosis Controllers Association (CTCA) Theme for 2003: "TB Or Not TB: There is a Choice" CTCA Leadership Awards were given to United States Senator Barbara Boxer and California Senator Don Perata for their work on behalf of tuberculosis awareness and control. These awards were presented at a press conference the San Francisco Public Health Department held in Chinatown with other speakers and including representatives from the Senators' offices.

Joint Workshop in San Diego entitled: "TB and HIV Mean Double Trouble" sponsored by San Diego Public Health Department and the American Lung Associaton of San Diego and Imperial Counties.

Local television programming in San Jose on tuberculosis awareness held jointly by Santa Clara Health Department and the American Lung Association of Santa Clara.
