LSHTM-UCL World TB Day Symposium 2018
Brief description of event: *
We take this opportunity each year to highlight contemporary research innovation and future challenges in a one-day symposium co-organised by University College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. The event is free of charge and open to all with an interest in TB, and is streamed live for those who can't be there in person.
Our theme for World TB Day 2018 is "the challenge of antimicrobial resistant TB", and will include a debate that tackles the question: ‘Do we need host-directed therapy if we have a universal drug regimen?’
By including presentations that cover a diverse range of topics (including: laboratory sciences, epidemiology, health economics, policy research and modelling) from world leaders in their field, we aim to encourage discussion and debate around some of the most important themes in our fight against TB.
