Grants for Anti-TB Drugs
The Global Drug Facility (GDF) grant service is a mechanism whereby first-line anti-TB drugs are granted to approved countries and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) to support DOTS expansion and sustainability of nationwide coverage in countries that are donor-dependent for their drug needs.
GDF grants run in three-year cycles and are subject to the satisfactory compliance with GDF terms and conditions of support determined during annual monitoring missions and to the availability of resources to National TB Control Programmes.
Countries eligible for a grant of free anti-TB drugs must meet the following criteria:
- Annual per capita GNI under US$ 3000
- National plan and budget for DOTS expansion to meet global targets
- Technical guidelines demonstrating commitment to meet global targets
- Annual report on DOTS performance (WHO TB collection form)
- Recent external national TB programme review
For more information about applying for GDF grants, please see the application materials below. These materials are applicable to the 17th round of applications to the GDF and limited to applications for paediatric anti-TB drugs.
