Kochon Prize
The Stop TB Partnership-Kochon Prize is a US$ 65 000 award that supports the global fight against tuberculosis (TB). The Prize is awarded once a year to persons, institutions, or organizations that have made a highly significant contribution to combating TB.
The Prize is fully funded by the Kochon Foundation, a non-profit foundation registered in the Republic of Korea.
Candidates must be nominated by a recognized national health body of any WHO Member State, any Stop TB partner or any former recipient of the Prize.
The theme for the 2012 Kochon Prize was: CHILDHOOD TUBERCULOSIS
The 2012 Kochon Prize winner, Desmond Tutu Tuberculosis Centre, was awarded the Prize at Stop TB Symposium, held on 13 November, 2012 during the 43rd Union World Conference on Lung Health in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
