Kochon Prize

Photograph The Stop TB Partnership-Kochon Prize is a US$ 65 000 award that supports the global fight against tuberculosis (TB). The Prize is awarded once a year to persons, institutions, or organizations that have made a highly significant contribution to combating TB.

The Prize is fully funded by the Kochon Foundation, a non-profit foundation registered in the Republic of Korea.

Candidates must be nominated by a recognized national health body of any WHO Member State, any Stop TB partner or any former recipient of the Prize.

Nominees may include persons, institutions, or organizations that have made significant and documented achievements in the formulation and implementation of a system or policy for anti-TB programmes, or in the areas of TB research, advocacy and communication, education or training. Specific selection criteria will be considered when reviewing applications.

2011 Kochon Prize winners were announced at the Opening Ceremony of the 42nd Union World Conference on Lung Health, 27 October 2011 - Lille, France.
