Xpert MTB/RIF

TB REACH promotes innovative and new ways of detecting and treating TB cases. Our grantees are implementing a number of different approaches and one is the instruction of new diagnostic technology such as Xpert MTB/RIF. Not only are TB REACH grantees using Xpert MTB/RIF on a large scale, but they are using it in different ways, with novel ideas that bring the technology closer to the point of care and directly benefit TB patients.

As part of the support for TB case finding activities, through a Global Drug Facility mechanism, TB REACH has procured over 150 GeneXpert machines and more than 250,000 Xpert MTB/RIF cartridges making it the largest single source procurement mechanisms for of the new technology for multicounty initiatives.
