The United Nation’s Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Stop TB
Jorge Sampaio is a former President of the Portuguese Republic who is currently serving as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Stop TB. He was appointed to this role in May 2006 to help raise the issue of tuberculosis on the international political and development agendas and pursue the implementation of the Global Plan to Stop TB 2006-2015 as a road map to achieving the relevant Millennium Development Goals
