Western Pacific Region

US$4.7 billion will be needed for the full implementation of the Global Pan in the Western Pacific Region.

The estimated funding gap is US$1.4 billion.

About 9 million people with TB will be treated under DOTS from 2006 to 2015, and 126 000 people will be treated in DOTS-Plus programmes. Almost 12 000 HIV-positive TB patients will be enrolled on antiretroviral therapy.

The Global Plan will prevent about 3 million deaths, in comparison with a situation in which no DOTS programmes are implemented.
