Source of Previous Treatment for Re-Treatment TB Cases Registered under the National TB Control Programme, India, 2010

The study aimed at assessing the source of previous TB treatment of patient registered under India’s revised National TB Control program. A cross-sectional study was conducted in a number of different districts. Data was collected from retreatment patients, and showed that most of these patients were treated outside the program setting, this calls for enhanced efforts in extending treatment support and supervision to patients treated by the private sector.
