Call for membership: Core group of the Subgroup on Public-Private Mix for TB Care and Control

The Subgroup on Public-Private Mix for TB care and control (PPM Subgroup) is seeking applicants for membership to its Core Group.

The PPM Subgroup was established by the Stop TB Partnership's DOTS Expansion Working Group (DEWG), to help develop global policy on PPM and assist countries to develop and implement national policies and guidelines to engage all care providers. The Core Group of the Subgroup provides the strategic direction and facilitates the work of the Subgroup. It is composed of rotating institutional and individual members.

The terms of reference for the core group include:

  • To oversee and steer the work of the Subgroup
  • To advise the secretariat in developing PPM strategic framework and work plans
  • To support the Secretariat in coordinating and monitoring PPM activities and progress
  • To hold face to face meetings around the annual Union conferences and the PPM Subgroup meetings
  • To participate in teleconferences organized by the Subgroup secretariat as and when needed.
  • To set the agenda and assist in the organization of annual Subgroup meetings

The PPM Subgroup encourages applications from individuals and institutional representatives with demonstrated interest and ability to promote engagement of all care providers through PPM approaches. Applicants are asked to submit a brief note outlining their interests in joining the Core Group to the PPM Subgroup secretariat at ppmtb@who.int and yesudianh@who.int , by 15 October 2010.

Successful candidates will be selected based on their application with due consideration of their TB expertise, geographical representation and outstanding contribution.
