Call for nominations for the Chair of the Stop TB Partnership Coordinating Board

3 May 2013 - Geneva - The Stop TB Partnership Secretariat is inviting nominations from individuals who are interested in serving as the Chair of the Coordinating Board.

Only current Board members can make nominations for the Board Chair. Board members can nominate:

  • Themselves (unless they are a member of the Executive Committee)
  • Other Board members (excluding members of the Executive Committee)
  • Individuals who are not currently on the Board. These nominations must be seconded by another member of the Board.

The call for nominations is part of the package of governance reforms approved by the Coordinating Board at its 22nd meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in November 2012.

The Board Chair’s primary role will be to act as a global spokesperson for the Stop TB Partnership and the wider TB community. For that reason the selected candidate should ideally be highly respected within the global health community, hold a high profile position within their country or organization, and have the ability to leverage resources. The full terms of reference for the Board Chair are included in the call for nominations.

The nomination period for the Board Chair will close on Friday 24 May 2013. The process for nominating and electing the next Board Vice-Chair will be launched after the July 2013 meeting of the Stop TB Partnership Coordinating Board.
