Scientific symposium discusses childhood TB for World TB Day
21 March 2011 - Berlin - The Koch-Metchnikov-Forum (KMF) organized the Fifth Scientific Symposium on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day in Berlin on March 21 and 22.
The symposium, called "On the move against childhood tuberculosis - transforming the fight towards elimination", focused on the problems of childhood tuberculosis.
More than 70 scientists, physicians and medical officers participated in the symposium, many of them from the KMF's partner countries - Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova - and discussed 29 presentations on epidemiology, prevention, diagnostics, clinics and therapy of childhood tuberculosis.
The symposium continues a tradition of scientific meetings held on World Tuberculosis Day in Berlin, starting in 2007.
On 22 March, Dr. G. Kosmiadi from the Central Tuberculosis Research Institute in Moscow gave a presentation about TB prevention for managers of Kempinski Hotels at Baltschug hotel in Moscow.
