Winners of the 2011 Award for Nursing Excellence announced
24 March 2011 - Geneva - The fifteen winners of the 2011 Award for Nursing Excellence in TB/MDR-TB were announced on 24 March, World TB Day.
The annual award, run by the International Council of Nurses and supported by Lilly, recognizes nursing outstanding achievements in TB prevention, care and treatment. It showcases nurses' contribution to the fight against TB and offers recipients an educational grant to continue their professional development.
The 2011 TB award recipients are:
- Ethiopia: Mrs Abebech Kassegne ALEMAYEHU
- Kenya: Mrs Zuhura IBRAHIM OSMAN
- Lesotho: Mrs Mamoelo Eulalia NTLHABA, Mrs Sara-Marie MAKAMANE-MAELE, Mr Mosiuoa Petrose MAPETLA
- Malawi: Mrs Nyembezi CHIBONGA
- Mozambique: Mr Felix CONJUA
- Philippines: Ms Grace RONDILLA
- Russia: Mrs Liudmila SURNINA, Mrs Elena SAVENKO, Mrs Veronica LESCHENKO
- South Africa: Mr David Sphamandla MHLOPHE
- Swaziland: Mrs Phetsile Antonia MAMBA
- Uganda: Mr Joash MAGAMBO ISABIRYE
- Zambia: Mrs Royce SIMBWALANGA MUKONKA
