CPTR initiative launches survey on community engagement in TB research

23 May 2011 - Montreal - The Stakeholder and Community Engagement Working Group of the Critical Path to TB Drug Regimens (CPTR) initiative is conducting a survey on community engagement in tuberculosis (TB) research.

The survey aims to unearth relevant experiences, resources and tools which would help organizations partnering with CPTR to incorporate community engagement in their search for new courses of treatment for TB.

Any individual or organisation involved in, or knowledgeable about, community engagement in TB is invited to participate in the survey. For the purposes of the survey, community engagement refers to any form of consultation, collaboration and partnership put in place to enable a dialogue between community representatives and researchers to ensure that research projects are understood, acceptable and meaningful to participants.

To learn how you can participate in this survey, please contact Mr. Renaud Boulanger by email at renaud.boulanger@alumni.utoronto.ca

CPTR aims to speed the development of new and improved drug regimens for tuberculosis. The initiative brings together drug developers, global regulatory agencies, and civil society organizations to support advances in regulatory science, the development of infrastructure, and other activities needed to facilitate the development and availability of new TB treatments. More than 40 organizations are presently involved in CPTR.
