Aeras and NIAID sponsor TB vaccine symposium
7 September 2011 - Bethesda, USA - Tuberculosis (TB), vaccine and regulatory experts convened at a scientific symposium to discuss clinical development aspects of TB vaccine research.
The event marked the second meeting on TB vaccine research of a new bi-annual symposium programme co-sponsored by Aeras and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health.
The discussion focused on criteria for advancing vaccines from Phase IIb to Phase III and the challenges of adaptive trial design. Leaders in global health presented on a range of issues including the impact of vaccines and trial design.
The next symposium will be held in spring 2012.
