Aeras appoints three new Directors

2 November 2011 - Rockville, USA - Aeras has appointed Wayne Pisano, Gerd Zettlmeissl and Lota Zoth to the organization's board of directors.

The new directors bring expertise in vaccine development and commercial operations, financial and business management, and organizational leadership from the vaccine and biopharmaceutical sectors.

Mr. Pisano is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Sanofi Pasteur, one of the largest vaccine companies in the world. Dr. Zettlmeissl, former Chief Executive Officer of the Austria-based biotechnology company Intercell AG, is a vaccine expert and biopharmaceutical business executive.

Ms. Zoth is a strategic finance and operations expert who previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MedImmune, a biopharmaceutical company based in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Aeras is a non-profit product development organization dedicated to the development of new vaccines against tuberculosis.
