WHO requests information from facilities using the Xpert MTB/RIF test
14 February 2012 - Geneva - The WHO Stop TB Department’s Diagnostics and Laboratory Strengthening Unit (WHO-TBL) has created a new website to gather feedback from early implementers of the Xpert MTB/RIF diagnostic test.
WHO aims to collect information on a quarterly basis on the numbers of tests that facilities are conducting, test results and any operational problems, among other data.
Facilities are invited to register on the website and provide details of their experiences to date. Registered users will be reminded on a quarterly basis to provide information throughout 2012.
The information collected will be used to inform WHO guidance and document operational experience with the diagnostic test. No facilities will be identified by name in any publication nor will individual facility results be shared. WHO expects to disseminate aggregated results via the regular WHO-TBL Update on Xpert MTB/RIF and other forums.
