Photo exhibit feature on global TB situation opens in Hannover, Germany
9 November 2012 - Hannover, Germany - Today marked the opening of the photo exhibit "STOP TB! Tuberculosis - A Global Threat" at the Kunsthalle Faust. The exhibit, which runs through 16 December and was curated by Matthias Stehr, features photos produced on behalf of the Stop TB Partnership by Jean Chung, Sailendra Kharel, David Orr, David Rochkind and Riccardo Venturi. The photos and an accompanying multimedia presentation depict the suffering and hope of TB patients in countries including Brazil, Cambodia, India and Sudan.
On opening day the public was invited to a panel discussion on TB featuring Dr Peter Reff of the KfW Development Bank, Prof Dr Klaus Fleischer of the German Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Association, Hedwig Diekwisch of the BUKO Pharma Campaign and Helga Heykes-Uden from Hannover’s TB counseling center. A workshop program for young people also took place. The exhibit is supported by the Bingo Environmental Foundation of Lower Saxony and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
