Merit Award for Vietnam's exemplary TB control

21 January 2015 - Vietnam - Last month Country Representative in Vietnam Dr. Nguyen Thien Huong received the Merit Award and Memorial Symbol on behalf of KNCV for its significant contributions to Vietnam's socio-economic development in 2014. KNCV Central Office Staff in The Hague warmly congratulate their Vietnam Team colleagues for this honor. Their third award in five years: a great achievement indeed.

On December 19, 2014 KNCV Vietnam was presented with the Merit Award and Memorial Symbol from the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) - The People's Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM) in the presence of representatives of the Government of Vietnam, VUFO - PACCOM and other International Non-Governmental Organizations.

KNCV was chosen out of an initial selection of 32 organizations. In 2014 there were around 900 foreign NGOs operating in Vietnam in health, education, and other social sectors.

Together with the Awards received in 2010 and 2012, the Merit Award is seen as a show of recognition by the Vietnamese Government and the NGO community for the efforts of KNCV. It also reflects the consistent commitment of KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation in Vietnam.
