| Organization Description: | “Coalition of HIV-servicing organizations” is the All-Ukrainian NGO, which consolidates regional and all-Ukrainian organizations, operating in primary prevention field, harm reduction, care and support for HIV positive people. Coalition was officially founded in 2004. The idea of creating HIV-servicing coalition appeared in 1999, as NGOs realized the necessity to join in order to achieve active participating in the process of forming and implementation of national HIV/AIDS epidemic policy. The Coalition has functioned as a working group of the 15-20 most active HIV-servicing NGOs all over Ukraine. Meetings of HIV-servicing NGOs facilitated stoppage of non-aimed using of Global Fund grant by the main recipients in 2003. At the turn of the 2003 year the working group adopted a decision to register Coalition activity officially - to create the whole-national organization, consolidating HIV-servicing NGOs and their unions, which operated at the all levels of HIV/AIDS prevention. Coalition mission is to strengthen and to expand participation of NGOs, their unions and nets, providing services in the sphere of reproductive health, HIV infection prevention and HIV positive people support, as well as to cope (overcome) HIV epidemic, tuberculosis and sexually-transmitted infections (adopted at the Coalition General Meeting on March, 2004). Coalition intends to coordinate activity and to develop the HIV-servicing NGOs potential, to advocate the HIV-servicing NGOs interests and to introduce new programs and techniques, using the best practices, to cooperate both with international organizations and government institutions, to facilitate transparency of Ukrainian government HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis activity. At the present time Coalition of HIV-servicing organizations perform the following practices: - Providing of the equal participation of NGOs in the process of development and realization of national policy in HIV/AIDS interdiction, performed through the means of the government budget and international technical aid. - Organizing the effective mechanism of providing social services by NGOs (licensing according to the Legislative act of Ukraine “About the social services”) For the moment Coalition consist of 42 non-government HIV-servicing organizations from 19 regions of Ukraine. |
